Our aim is to make things as straightforward as possible for anglers when wishing to select which trip to fish on, we hope that you find the following information useful. Whilst the boat is coded for 6 we will never take more than 5 anglers a time – if you are a group of 4 (or two groups of two) that is just perfect.

The fact you are reading this means that there is a good chance that you will be an experienced angler and will fully understand that Mother Nature is Boss when it comes to determining the best times to fish. This is particularly true when fishing from boats in the South Atlantic Ocean.

Our trips are of 10 days duration to afford you the best opportunity to enjoy great fishing in the shortest possible time frame. We do not want people to book what for many will be the trip of a lifetime only to end up sitting in the local bar drowning their sorrows while the wind is howling outside – it has happened to us and many of our anglers who have undertaken overseas trips in the not too distant past!

Flexibility is key. We will take the best 2 days weather to get Offshore for the Big Game fish, the next best days to get out on the boat inshore and the remaining best 2 days fishing from the beach and rocks. “Best” days fishing from the shore does not necessarily mean calm, in fact when the water is coloured and wind is kicking-up it can be ideal for beach fishing.

In summary this is what you get as part of the standard fully hosted 10 day package;

  • Collection from Cape Town international Airport
  • Nine nights accommodation in twin room
  • Two days Offshore Game fishing (Boat)
  • Two days inshore Game & reef fishing (Boat)
  • One day fully guided beach fishing (Shore)
  • One day fully guided rock fishing (Shore)
  • All tackle
  • All bait

A typical 10 days would look something like this but is, as mentioned, subject to your wishes and weather;

Day 1

Collection 0800 from CPT International Airport*. We will be there to meet you with our air-conditioned 4WD Safari truck and drive through Cape Town to our fantastic accommodation in Hout Bay stopping at our friendly tackle store on the way to pick up any bits that you may need and many more that you probably don’t! Settle into your accommodation and then we are off either fishing if your up to it or a relaxing seafood lunch around the vibrant Hout Bay area.

Day 2

You will be raring to go (as long as you haven’t attempted to drink Cape Town dry the night before!) and we will be either out in the deeps off of Cape Point targeting Tuna or if the weather is not ideal then we will be setting up camp on one of the beautiful beaches around Cape Town targeting Bronze Whaler & Ragged tooth sharks, the impressive Cob and a variety of Rays.

Day 3

Weather dependant – beach/ boat/rock fishing

Day 4

Weather dependant – beach/ boat/rock fishing

Day 5

Weather dependant – beach/ boat/rock fishing

Day 6

Weather dependant – beach/ boat/rock fishing

Day 7-9

These are “fallback days”. If the weather is better than preceding days for heading Offshore, that’s where we will be headed. If we have managed to get all of our fishing in, fantastic! You now have 3 days to enjoy the delights of Cape Town and the surrounding area or if you haven’t had enough of battling Ocean Beasts and would like more we would be happy arrange that for you at an additional cost.

Day 10

Flights to the UK depart afternoon or evening so you will have the opportunity for an early start, a whole days fishing/sightseeing before we deliver you safely back to Cape Town International Airport for your return trip.

  • We STRONGLY recommend British Airways night flights from the UK. You can leave UK 4pm, sleep on the plane and be fishing for Tuna off of the tip of Africa in the morning!

What to bring:

Sun cream

Good polarising Sun glasses

Lightwight breathable shirts

Lightweight waterproof bottoms & boots

Waterproof top

Fishing equipment

We will supply the correct rods and reels required to battle the powerful fish that you will be targeting and we also have a modest selection of lures/plugs/jigs for you to use. Do feel free to bring along anything that you want yourself and if you really want make sure you are kitted out prior to travel its worth dropping a line (Terry knows us and has prepared a selection of lures specifically for our trips).

We have been travelling to Cape Town for 17 years and have never encountered any problems in relation to safety. The locals are very welcoming and friendly and crime in this part of South Africa is far lower than many parts of UK!

If you are a full British passport holder you do not need a visa to travel to SA. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months at time of travel from UK. Please do check this carefully with UK Gov before travel.

To secure your booking you will be required to pay a 50% deposit at time of booking and the balance 4 weeks prior to the start of your trip. Please check our terms and conditions for information on cancellations.

Food & Drink

You will find both food and drink to be of a high standard and far cheaper than in the UK. Seafood & of course Steaks are particularly good and we would be happy to guide you to some of our favourite places. You will be located within 20 minutes of some of the finest vineyards in the World so if Wine is your thing, you are in for a treat.

We are fully insured for both boat and shore guiding, however, you should take out your own holiday insurance and make sure that it covers fishing – obvious we know but in the unlikely event that it is needed it could save a hefty bill and a ruined holiday so invest in a product with appropriate levels of cover for you and your belongings.
